Crayfish!

Crayfish we caught

This is what they look like when they are cooked!

Vromans Nose Hike

Mom,
Can't believe I haven't told you much about Elder Thompson. He has been out a transfer (6 weeks) longer than I have. He came out the october 2013. He from Washington, and he is very chill and sarcastic. We get a long great. It's way fun to serve with him. We caught crayfish last week and cooked them up on preparation day. It was way fun. The only problem is he has been here for 5 transfers, the same amount of time I was in Scotia, so he might be leaving this upcoming transfer, which is on Wednesday August 6th. So I might take over the area after being here only 6 weeks. He always makes a joke and lightens up the mood when that is needed, but he is a very hard worker. I did buy some jeans. Elder Thompson still thinks I need a gps. What do you think?? It would be very nice, but I don't want to just spend money you know. You can save all your investigators, potentials, and formers in it though, and it's makes planning easy. Ben is home for knee surgery. He tore his meniscus. This past week was good. A lot of finding. Haha. Sierra is really the only person we are teaching right now, and Elder Thompson and I aren't sure how serious she is about investigating now. She did come to church which was good. But she seems to be meeting with us just for the friendship aspect of it rather than a true desire to learn the gospel. We will still teach her this week. We have taught her the first 3 lessons in PMG. We have also taught her some of lesson 4 including the word of wisdom, baptism and confirmation, prayer, and scripture study. (We usually break up lesson 4 into individual commandments). We will see where that goes. We did get a new bishop yesterday, and we recently got a new ward mission leader. Both of which are really exciting. The new ward mission leader Brother Bryant is really enthusiastic  and wants to get everyone more involved in the work. We also got to go on a hike to Vroman's nose with Sierra and some members to help her develop some friendships with the ward members. I'll be sending pictures home. It was fun. I totally forgot to tell you guys about the last zone conference which was way awesome. We learned how to increase our trust with the lord and how to strengthen our trust in him. That's really important, because this is the Lord's work and without him, nothing would be accomplished. We also learned about repentance, and how it isn't just to receive forgiveness of sins, but the true goal of repentance is change and the development of a christlike character. Love you mom and love you all. Hope you all have a fantastic week
