I'm a mormon because of my personal testimony of this gospel. I've had many wonderful experiences that have allowed my testimony to grow. I remember when I was about to be baptized, I was afraid of going into the deep water. My mom advised me to pray about it, and I did. As soon as my prayer ended, the fear vanished and I knew that being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was what I needed to do. I also gained a testimony of the restoration of the gospel and the truthfulness of the book of mormon upon visiting New York, where I was able to see how the book was translated and the sacred grove, where Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ. I had a feeling of peace and assurance in my soul, and at that moment, I knew that this gospel is true.
How I live my faith
I've been a mormon my whole life, and have had many blessings by participating in various church duties. I've been a home teacher with my dad, and I've also participated in many service projects with the other people my same age in our ward. I will soon serve a mission in upstate New York.
